Ringworm, Acne & Skin Care

Acne Treatments at Home

Most people with acne attempt to treat their irritated skin with external face washes, soaps, lotions and treatments. The best acne treatment is to change your diet and ridding yourself of acne causing ingredients such as fried foods.

A diet rich in naturally wholesome foods such as fruits, whole grains, beans, and vegetables is the first recommendation for treating acne. Foods such as milk, milk products, margarine, shortening and other synthetically hydrogenated vegetable oils as well as fried foods which contain trans-fatty acids should be avoided.

It is possible the widespread acne condition in the US is directly attributable to the American diet. Americans have a tendency to eat large quantities for fried foods, usually cooked in harmful fats and oils. No all fats are bad, however typical Americans who eat foods such as ice cream, cheese, bacon, and milk containing the fats that are bad tend to be more prone to developing acne and skin problems.

Acne cannot really be treated using creams and soaps because the root of the condition lies beneath the skin. Pimples and blemishes are caused by bacteria and other irritants embedded underneath the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles, which are generally caused as a result of improper hygiene and poor diet – such as too much processed, fatty, fried and sugary foods.

A healthy skin diet will emphasize raw and steamed vegetables, in particular green leafy vegetables containing valuable trace minerals which are rich in fiber. Fresh green veggies are critical. Also include in your diet lean protein sources and complex carbohydrates, such as rice, whole-grain bread, and potatoes. These fiber rich foods ensure a clean gastrointestinal tract, considered essential in the treatement of acne. Consume three healthy meals a day which provide important nutrients and decrease you cravings for sugary or greasy fried foods. Also helpful in reducing acne breakouts are foods rich in vitamin A, like apricots, watermelon, and broccoli, as well as foods like lean beef, nuts, beans and whole grains that are rich in zinc. It’s imperative to consume plenty of water to help in flushing the toxins, which contribute to breakouts.
