1. Facial cleansers used should be for sensitive skin. Exfoliates in facial cleansers may cause irritation to your skin. You have to get in the habit of reading the ingredients in a facial wash and avoiding the ones you are obviously allergic to or the ones that you found to aggravate the skin.

2. Before drying your face, be sure to moisturize. Stay away from perfumes and fragrances in your moisturizer as these may cause irritation. If needed, administer a second layer of moisturizer 2-3 minutes after the first layer is applied.

4. Monitor your sun exposure. Your skin could be aggravated by the heat. Sunscreen should be applied at all times when exposed to the sun.

6. Distract yourself. Find another activity to participate in if you find yourself scratching uncontrollably.
